If an HP system is set ' Lid close action' to ' Do nothing' (default is sleep) in Power Options > Advanced Settings on Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update, codenamed 'Redstone 2'), the Windows program may stop responding (hang) during an open and close lid event. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifying BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. If that is not the case, then it could be due to some Power Management options in the system BIOS. Now please change Power Option settings to disable sleepġ) Right Click the power icon on your taskbar and select "Power Options".Ģ) Next to your active/selected Power Option, Click "Change Plan Settings".ģ) Click "Change Advanced Power Settings".Ĥ) Under "Power Buttons and Lid", make sure "Lid Close Action" is set to "Do Nothing".
